Cathryn Keller, M.F.A. writes about museums, modern art, and modern yoga. She is a Washington, D.C.-based arts and culture writer, editor, and strategic communications and development consultant for museums, higher education, visual arts organizations and documentary film. A skillful translator of academic and curatorial concepts into accessible public language, she has developed award-winning publications and media, led strategic marketing campaigns, and initiated high-impact cultural partnerships for museums, universities and arts organizations in California, New York, Washington, D.C. and New Mexico.

Recent clients include the international foundation Friends of Florence and the Smithsonian’s Freer|Sackler Galleries as Senior Advisor for External Affairs for the exhibition Yoga: The Art of Transformation. Former director of public affairs for the Museum of New Mexico, Cathryn helped launch SITE Santa Fe, the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum, Santa Fe Art Week, and the Neutrogena Wing of the Museum of International Folk Art in Santa Fe, and worked for the Smithsonian Institution, the National Gallery of Art and The Phillips Collection.

Cathryn lectures on modern yoga history and its intersection with the history of photography; women artists and writers; and museum communications. Her art, exhibition, and book reviews and feature articles have appeared in The Washington Post, East Hampton Star, Sculpture, Curator, Museum and other publications. She has produced, written, and raised funds for films and multimedia on topics from adobe in New Mexico to yoga history, jazz, real estate, nuclear weapons, and political and artist biographies.
